Continuing the tradition begun 100 years ago, Lincoln Law School of San Jose’s mission is to make legal education affordable, and accessible to adults whose personal commitments or full-time careers might otherwise preclude them from pursuing a graduate-level degree. Lincoln’s professors are working lawyers and judges who provide Lincoln students with hands-on, real-world experience. Lincoln graduates go on to become valuable contributors to the San Jose community as members of the judiciary, lawyers, and public servants. Lincoln welcomes students of all ages from all walks of life who are ready to use their Lincoln education to make the world a better place.
The world is a better place when more people know more about the law. Our communities are safer, people have access to representation, and the law is able to serve everyone with greater equality. Lincoln exists as a place that widens the door to legal education. Our alumni network continues to serve the Bay Area and beyond, while giving back to their communities and extending the reach of Lincoln education.
We invite you to become a part of Lincoln’s story. Whether you’re interested in pursuing your legal education or supporting the work here at Lincoln financially, we assure you that you will find getting involved with Lincoln’s community to be fulfilling and rewarding for you, as a member of this community, as a professional, and as a person.
Lincoln has been disrupting the legal education landscape since 1919.
Lincoln was founded in 1919 to provide educational opportunities for veterans returning from World War I. Since then, we’ve prided ourselves in catering to students with full-time jobs who wouldn’t otherwise be able to attend law school.
Since 1919, Lincoln has had the honor of graduating judges, government officials, corporate attorneys, and successful business persons.
Formerly known as Lincoln University, Lincoln split into two separate institutions, including Lincoln Law School of San Jose, in 1993. Following the split, we have proudly operated as an independent non-profit organization for nearly 30 years.
In 2013, Lincoln became the only school in Northern California approved by the United States Patent and Trademark Office to operate both a Patent and a Trademark Clinic. These clinics assist the public in filing and prosecuting the patents and trademarks which become the foundation for local small businesses.
